MM's death had intrigued me for a long time. It still remains something of a mystery just as the deaths of her lovers JFK and Bobby Kennedy. My tentative understanding now is:
1. she had had an extremely disturbing childhood wherein she had been shunted in and out of 11 foster homes.
2. she had slept her way to the top. sex was a tool to fulfill her ambitions.
3. Her list of lovers was long. It included JFK, Bobby Kennedy, and Sinatra. And also several film producers; and mafia dons including Sam Giancana.
4. She was hoping to marry one of the two Kennedy brothers--not realizing that neither of them was prepared to risk their political future by openly giving any kind of legitimacy to their relationship with MM.
5. Ultimately she was dumped by Sinatra, and also dumped by the two Kennedy brothers.
6. She lost control and started pursuing, some might stay stalking, the two brothers to the extent that she threatened to make her relationship with them public. She had also kept a diary in which she had made notes of conversations she had had with Bobby Kennedy. These included what Bobby had told her of things like the Cuban missile crisis, and his fight against the mafia.
7. After she started threatening the two brothers she was lured for a week-end getaway by Sinatra, Gianacana, and others for some kind of a holiday retreat where she may have been gang raped. Pictures seem to have been taken of Giancana performing anal sex on her, although those who saw the pictures say Giancana had his clothes on. She was probably drugged at this time. It is possible that this was done to blackmail her into silence.
8.Whether she killed herself or was murdered still remains a mystery. She seems to have experienced an elation in her mood in the days before her death, and if she indeed committed suicide, it is possible that this elation in her mood gave her sufficient strength to put an end to her life.
