omlet

i can make anything..but I cannot flip an omlet. okay it comes out burnt and 'tasty' ( sometimes i feel my husband says it just bec he does not want to offend me). He tried to make and failed too.. I can make broken omlet in pieces...maybe its the eggs ...they have more water content..you cannot make it with less fat. otherwise i am a good cook.

another thing i cannot make perfectly 'round' roti.

i am not a great cook, but i can flip an omelette. try, try until you succeed.

you need lots of butter or fat to make it flip...i think.

and don't flip omelettes (not omlet)! indians do not know how to make omelettes. these flipped omelettes are nothing but greasy, rubber films filled with coriander, onions, tomatoes, masala and what not crap. think of omelettes as dosas -- they are to be folded and should be a bit soft on the inside. or better you stick to making boiled eggs -- suits you, hai na?

i just spoke to the missus. she clarifies that unless one was rolling the dough in a careless, disorganized manner, the dough should come out even and perfectly round without having to flip the dough around with one's hands. it is sad and and a bit ironic to hear that a person from the land of khakras and theplas is having difficulty making perfectly round rotis! usually only mangalsutram wearing gulti women have difficulty in this department. perhaps the mother-in-law has fully (and forcibly) converted the daughter-in-law.
