Who were Aryans

Post  QB on Thu Jan 09, 2014 1:47 pm

I visited rome recently, i saw many people looking like my community members. distinct features. I got curious and i started a bit of research into our ancient history.

few links would be able to shed light . I would love to hear the views of this forums members on this.

( cyrus came from greece region) Darius called himself Aryan.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Greek_religion ( pls note how similar this religion is to ours)

Hitler also called his race aryan. But i firmly believe we were originaly greeks.

Great to hear about your Rome visit. How did you spend your time in Rome? What all did you see ?

Regarding the Aryans, one theory is that they were originally inhabitants of a region near the Caspian Sea. Then one branch went towards North-West India, one branch towards Persia (modern Iran), and another branch towards Europe.

I visited rome, barcelona , and lisbon..all had different flavor. it was great to get lost in ancient gallis...narrow streets lined with ancient houses . churches in rome were aflatoon..visited vatican and was lucky to attend mass on christmas..it was in italian but the spiritual experience was worth it . happy new year to you and everyone who visits on this forum.

regarding the aryan research. i would like to share two more links..which point out to earliest evidence of aryans having originated near armenia east of turkey. from there they migrated to russia..and then down to central asia where they settled in hindu kush region, next near indus valley where they are held responsible for the perishment of mohenjo daro civilization. rigveda was concocted there..( i think they were regular druggies where they used to grind poppy seeds abudantly found in the region with cannabis and make a drink..light fire and chant mantras) I was always suspectful of our vedas being written under influence of something. i m not wrong. I dont know how wise it would be to accept blindly the mythology ..the various gods and goddesses..and rituals. ( i m not against any religion and i respect it as it is one of the most ancient civilizations).

now if someone could throw light on who dravidians were...or were there any?

in 2005 putin visited armenia to witness these findings. persians came much much later..in 500 bc. aryans existed around 6000 BC. greeks migrated to greece in 2000-1500 BC.

With respect to dravidians one theory is that they were the original inhabitants of the indus valley civilization.
