Agree completely. However, in medieval India Muslim women were better off than Hindu women. First, if a Muslim woman became a widow she could remarry. Second, child marriages were taking place amongst Hindus but not amongst Muslims. Third, there was no such thing as sati or jaguar for Muslim women. The problem for sati and jauhar was twofold. First, it could be forcible and second in the case of voluntary sati or jauhar it was a result of brainwashing since childhood.

I am not claiming the status of Muslim women in medieval India was perfect, but it seems to have been better than that of Hindu women.

Regarding modern India, I really want the burqa to be banned as was done in Turkey. I am not sure if the triple talaq is legal or not anymore in India, but if it is then it needs to go. And this business of a man having the option of having four wives needs to go as well.
