Another round in the boxing ring: The Modi vs Advani clash continues

Post  Guest on Fri Sep 13, 2013 12:53 am

In the above debate, Sudheendra Kulkarni and Prabhu Chawala are obviously pro Advani (and anti Modi) ; while Meenakshi Lekhi and Suneel Alagh are pro Modi. Suneel Alagh bashes Advani directly while Lekhi bashes Advani supporters speculating that some of them seem to be on a pay-roll (of Advani?). Aakaar Patel's views seem to be more nuanced. Some interesting things pointed out by Prabhu Chawala:
1. Anyone who criticizes Modi is abused by Modi supporters
2. Advani had built up many of the present day leaders of the BJP including Modi, Jaitley, and Sushma Swaraj. In contrast, Modi has not built any up any leader in Gujarat and has in fact destroyed the political careers of many senior BJP leaders from Gujarat.

Aakar Patel points out that Modi has persecuted honest and upright government bureaucrats in Gujarat. And that Modi has supported and promoted corrupt ministers in his (the Gujarat) cabinet (like Amit Shah). Sudheendra Kulkarni says that Modi is a completely polarizing figure who does not deserve to be the PM of India.

Meanwhile, Advani continues to oppose Modi's candidature as the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate:
