it's called a Chocolate Cajeta Cake. that's CaHetha, a mexican word. dark brown, nearly black. a personal cake. shaped like a whole cake, but only about 3 inches in diameter. not over-sweet. optimally porous. served warm. its most interesting feature: at its top is a shallow pool of golden liquid caramel. when one spoons out a bit of the cake, the caramel flows languidly down it and moistens its lower-altitude regions. i have it at restaurants of the mexican chain called taco cabana. i've never come across it anywhere else. perfect dessert after a mexican meal accompanied by hot salsas.

Nice. I had some great dessert yesterday at the local Udupi restaurant. There was hot vermicelli payasam, a great golden colored rice pudding seved cold, and a dish called pineapple sheera which was served hot and which was like Kesari Bhath except that it had bits of pineapple in it.

I also had yellow dal with rice and sago and paneer capsicum. The sambar which i had with a plain dosa was great ( hot and well spiced) though it had capsicum in it (along with some other vegetables) which I found unusual. Did not like the coconut chutney since it was bland. Also had some Bise Bele Bath.

This was a Kannadiga vegetarian food buffet and I plan to return to this place.
