Sridevi had been betrayed before by mithun. mithun claimed that he had obtained a divorce from yogita bali and so she married him. turns out he was lying. she then got the marriage annulled.

the real story " jaisi karni waisi bharni"

Pati Patni aur actress.
The story starts where Yogita Bali a strugling actress marries a much older famous singer ' kishore kumar' , she gets everything, name and fame but doesnt get the love she desires. She finds a friend in a struggling actor Mithun, she supports her friend. Kishore doesn't like her proximity with Mithun, she warns Yogita, but Yogita find love in Mithun and leave Kishore Kumar for Mithun.
Mithun later become Superstar but Yogita remain a housewife , somewhere in background. Mithun gets friendly with her costar Sridevi who also is a superstar. Friendship leads to love. Mithun tells sridevi that he loves her and wants to marry her, Sridevi denies and tells him that she cant as he already is married, if he can leave his wife she can think of relationship future.
Meanwhile there enters a producer Boney who is extremely friendly with Sridevi and later become her mentor and manages her movie assignments. Boney advise Sridevi to not to marry Mithun as he already is married and if at all she wants to marry her she need to make sure that Yogita divorce Mithun. Mithun talks to Yogita about Sridevi, Yogita is depressed now and is not ready to leave Mithun. Yogita asks Mithun to let her meet Sridevi. When Sridevi and Yogita meet, Yogita tell Sri that she can not leave her husband and if at all she want to carry relationship further that would be on her dead body.
Sridevi backs of the relationship with Mithun and their love story ends there.
Boney on the other hand is still helping sridevi with her career, her career after some time sees a downfall and later she faces family problem where both her parents dies and she is left all alone. Sridevi doesnt have very promising career to look after now, moreover she also loos interest in acting profession. Boney is still producing movies for her.
Boney is all married with two kids, he is love with actress since last 8 years but has never expressed her the love directly. He doesnt want to hurt his wife and family, moreover he is not sure if the actress loves him or not. She wants to help Sridevi in every possible way. Sridevi knows that Boney secretly loves her but she doesnt want to take things forward.
Boney's wife is all aware about this, she doesnt like their friendship and boney's behavior towards a fellow actress, this leads to disturbance in their wedding. Their marriage is now on the rocks.
Sridevi is now all alone and has decided to quit the movies, this would mean that Boney will not be able to meet her . Boney's passion for the actress grows and he also realises that he is in love with the actress and he can not imagine his life without her. He talks to his wife about this, she somehow knows about it and was scared that someday her husband would come to her and demand a divorce. She ask boney for time, she wants to make the relationship work if not for them but for their kids.
Boney proposes Sridevi and Sridevi decline him. Sridevi tell him that though there is no other man in her life and she doesnt hope to find any other man but she would never like to have relationship with a married man. Boney convince him that he will make his wife understand that he only loves Sridevi and not her and he wants to spent all his life with her.
Sridevi also likes him and his love finally ignite spark in her and they get married. When Boney's first wife come to know about this, she is all broken. Her friends and family advice her to file bigamy case against boney, but she refuses and tell them that she has loved this man and wont be able to do this to the father of their children. she leave Boney free to give Sridevi all the rights to sridevi and her love child to live legitimately with Boney.
Boney's ex wife gather all the courage and start up a studio and get success in doing so.

We don't know all the details. for instance boney kapoor's first wife was said to have been suffering from psychological problems and was said to have been a kleptomaniac. and according to one version, Mithun had assured Sridevi that he had already obtained a divorce from yogeeta bali when she agreed to embark on the affair with him. anyways, i am glad she is happy now.
